I did the Sutallee Ridge Trail Run

My buddy Stephen talked me into the Sutallee Ridge Trail Run, organized by Mountain Goat Adventures.  Lisa and her gang do a great job of hosting the event, marking the trails, and making exercise fun.   I finished 9.7 miles in 2hrs 37 minutes. I wasn't able to jog the entire trail, but considering that I've been slacking off on my running lately, I was happy with the results.

Lately I've been doing the occasional long run, but I haven't been keeping up with my strength training, or shorter runs to keep and build up my speed.   I guess if I'm going to pay to participate in "official" events and challenges I should get back to training more.

Here's the course we ran.  It doesn't show the elevation changes, but according to my Garmin I achieved roughly 1200 ft of elevation on this course.

Check out Just a walk in the woods 😀 on Relive!

Yesterday was a test, and I think I passed. 😀 Stephen and I completed 14.4 miles. We jogged a little and hiked a lot with over 2000 feet of elevation gain.

Today my legs are a little tired, but other than one blister on my foot, and a spot that my backpack rubbed on the back of my shoulder, I'm no worse for wear.

The plan is for us to run a 1/2 Marathon Trail race in June. Stephen is more than ready and has run several already, but I'll have to train some more in order to achieve a decent time.

Here's the route we hiked yesterday.

Be blessed.

Relive 'Morning Run'

Stephen and I had a great run this morning.  We ran through a few puddles, but most of the path was dry. Those puddles did cause a small blister on the back of my right heel though, so I guess I’ll have to work on my ‘running in water’ technique. J.   We knocked out 5 miles today, which is becoming the norm for our runs.  I’m not ready to match his 10 and 30 mile runs, but I’m getting better. Also, as usual, it was a very “casual” run for him as my pace is a couple minutes slower than his.

Check out our path from Heritage Park to Etowah Park and back.

Morning puddle hopping!

Hi folks,

Had a great run this morning, logging 5.27 miles in 52 minutes and change.  It wasn't raining, but there were lots of puddles on the path. At first we'd run around them in the wet grass, but when the grass started becoming more mud than grass, we resigned to just hoof it through the puddles.

Still praising God for bringing my running buddy Stephen into my life.  He  gets me on the paths/trails on a regular basis and encourages and keeps me going when I want to stop.

Have a blessed day!

PSA results still great!!

Hi folks,

I'm approaching 4 years since being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, and I'm still celebrating being cancer free, even though the medical profession won't admit it. :)

I got my latest PSA results back today, and they're still within normal range at 2.7 ng/mL.!!

That's down .08 from my 7/12/17 PSA of 2.78.

Praise God!!

Have a blessed day!
